Aviation is one of the most amazing displays of advancement in the history of humanity. Along with great innovation, has come a significant ecological footprint. Overall, the global aviation industry produces around 2% of all human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Carbon dioxide emissions are the primary driver of global climate change, and our emissions from human activities are now higher than at any point in history. It’s widely recognised that to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, the world needs to urgently address emissions. In the coming weeks, we will be exploring the various emissions trading systems.
As an aircraft operator, Elit’Avia is committed to reducing our ecological footprint, and implementing these systems in our day-to-day operations. Join us as we explore the Emissions Trading System (ETS) of the EU, Switzerland and the UK and the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). Together we can make a difference.
