About the Role
We are looking for a Flight Operations Officer, based at our headquarters in Malta, and part of a highly motivated team dispatching business jets 24/7 worldwide. The ideal candidate has previous experience in flight operations, either in private or commercial aviation, in addition to the personal attributes to work within a complex and challenging aviation environment, a positive can-do attitude, the ability to focus on details, think critically, and can work in a team environment or on their own.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Global IFR/VFR, short range, and ultra-long rage EROPS flight planning in compliance with 1 AOC and one private OPS, flight safety and flight planning laws.
- Flight feasibility checks, arranging over flight/landing permissions, slots globally.
- Arranging handling, fuel, VIP and additional lavatory, water, towing, GPU, ASU equipment for the aircraft as necessary.
- Managing passenger details and arranging customs and immigration services as required, for example eAPIS.
- Reading and analyzing FIR/Enroute/Station NOTAM’s, TAF and METAR in the preparation and final dispatch stage of flight planning and acting accordingly should they affect.
- Arranging additional insurance coverage for aircraft operating into and out of places/countries on coverage exclusion lists.
- Maintaining watch of worldwide traffic flow and planning accordingly.
- Updating crew about slots that may be incurred due to European Central flow management.
- Worldwide Weather monitoring as well as geopolitics and security monitoring.
- Cooperating with Ground Operations Coordinators for cost comparisons of different airports and handlings (good Excel skills), checking COVID-19 restrictions for PAX and Crew.
- Managing flights schedule and PAX details in Flight Scheduling System
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or higher education.
Experience in flight dispatch, previous experience with PPS flight planning software, GURU W&B
General knowledge of aviation regulations and requirements.
A highly process driven but also “out-of-the-box” approach to problem solving. Don’t think out of the box, think like there is NO box.Good prioritization of tasks as well as ability to coordinate communication between other departments, external providers, and Clients.
Dedicated team players with excellent interpersonal skills, reliable, meticulous, and resourceful.
Ability to work under high pressure and make independent decisions based on gathered information.
Willingness to work to objectives set by the OCC Supervisor.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Fluent English (written and spoken),any other foreign language is an advantage.
Permanent EU work and residence permit.
